Welcome to the Sheilsoft.com website, home of the Sheilsoft scripts collection, a series of photographic and creative photo-art effects for Corel's Paint Shop Pro graphics application.
For keen photographers, I've provided a page of hopefully useful links to some of the best photographic resources on the net, and also written a short introduction to basic photo theory and digital workflow for those new to digital SLR photography.
For regular and informed general photographic info and discussions, photography forums can be extremely useful and entertaining. One of the best that I can recommend is DPreview (see below for more forum links). I've also created a small photo gallery to showcase some of my own photographic work, as well as some 'photo-art' created using Corel's Paint Shop Pro with some of my scripts from the Sheilsoft collection, which I hope you'll find interesting.
The main content of this website is the scripts I write for Corel's Paint Shop Pro. These scripts are files which, when run in PSP, automatically apply creative effects to your images. They can therefore be used by beginners, who simply want to make the most of their photos, without the need for in-depth knowledge, or by keen photographers as part of their post processing or creative workflow. As digital photography appears to get more and more complicated, with new bits of kit and software appearing every month, it's always useful to seek advice and share views with like minded photofreaks. There are many photo forums about, my favourite being DP Review, where there are many categories to suit all tastes, with a regular supply of postings. Other forums worth mentioning are Fred Miranda, Nikonians, PhotoNet, PhotoCamel, and Talk Photography. There are many more good forums, but these are the ones I pop into regularly.
